Elliott, Douglas Malcolm

ELLIOTT, Douglas Malcolm

1950 - 2023

Douglas died at the Magog Hospital Long Term Care Facility on December 9, 2023, after a long battle with cancer.

Douglas was born and lived his entire life on Cedarville Road in Ogden, where he served for many years as a municipal councillor. He also brought his exacting attention to detail to a number of local committees and organizations over the years.

After completing his Grade 12 studies at Stanstead College, Douglas earned his liberal arts degree at Bishop’s University. Douglas had many hobbies, including music, reading and photography, working for many years as a professional photographer.  He had a love for huskies and could be frequently seen being dragged up and down Cedarville Road by one or another of his dogs.

He will be sadly missed by his many friends and relatives. Douglas has asked that his ashes be buried with those of his parents at Applegrove Cemetery in Ogden; an interment will be held in the spring.

Douglas has left the bulk of his estate to Stanstead College, where a scholarship will be established in his name to support local students attending the school.

Many thanks to the staff at the Magog Hospital for their care and support.

RIP, cousin Doug. We had some fun times growing up. Maybe we'll meet again sometime. I hope so.
