It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Kim Duern on the morning of April 1, 2024, at age 49 after a brief battle with cancer. Kim will be dearly missed by Heather, his beloved partner of 25 years. He is mourned by his parents, Darlene (Alvin) and Normand (Beatrice, deceased), his sisters Julianne (Stewart) and Stephanie (Shawn), his nieces, nephews and many friends. We will often think of his kind smile and sense of humor and his music will continue to brighten our lives. In respect of Kim's wishes, there will be no funeral service. In memory of Kim and in recognition of the compassion shown to him in his last days at the Ruddy Shenkman Hospice, donations may be made to Hospice Care Ottawa ( https://www.hospicecareottawa.ca ).

I cannot find words to express my deepest condolences and sadness.
