It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of
Muriel Varney, née Bélanger
She passed on May 2nd, 2017 at home, at the age of 78.
Beloved wife and best friend of Terry Varney, retired veterinarian, for more than 56 wonderful years. Daughter of Gisèle St-Jean and late Jean-Louis Bélanger. She leaves behind her loving children : Jonathan, Dr. Greg (Dr. Jane Kielly), Justin (Julia Low); her cherished grandchildren: Jacob, Vivienne, Charlotte, Graeme and Katherine. She also leaves her sister Louise Rapley; her nephew Shawn, her niece Kim; sister-in-law Nela Varney and her son Taylor; her best friends Helen Johnson, Denise Dupéré and Caroline Landry as well as many relatives and friends. She was a Great Dane owner and lover of all animals.
As per Muriel's wishes, there will be no funeral or service. For those who wish to do so, donations to the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Ruth Vander Stelt, the Cancer Clinic staff in Gatineau and the CLSC staff in Quyon for their support and their great care.

It is with great sadness that I learn of Mrs. Varney's passing. I have had the blessing of knowing and working closely with Mrs. Varney since my adolescence. Mrs. Varney was always an inspiration and I know her as a woman of integrity, patience and great kindness. I would like to express my sincere condolences from my family to yours.
