Deceased, following a valiant struggle with vascular dementia, at Village Riviera on Friday, March 17, 2017 at the age of 85. Born in Sarsfield, Ontario September 13, 1931, the youngest of 14 children. Predeceased by his father Ovila Farmer and mother Exilia Farmer (née Regimbald), nine brothers (Leo, Gerard, Raymond, Jean-Paul, Marcel, Roger, Maurice, Laurent and Victor) and four sisters (Irene, Laurette, Blanche and Eva).

Remembered by his many nieces and nephews, by colleagues from his many years of service with the Government of Canada as a translator, and former colleagues and students at Ottawa secondary schools as a teacher.

Family and friends may pay respects at the COOPÉRATIVE FUNÉRAIRE DE L'OUTAOUAIS, 95 boul. de la Cite-des-Jeunes, Gatineau on Friday,  April 7, 2017 from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Service  in the chapel at 2:00  p.m. Reception to follow at 3:00 p.m. Private family burial at Sarsfield Cemetery, Ontario.

Famille Farmer

Je suis désolé d'entendre de ces tristes nouvelles. Je suis le petit fils de Léo Farmer et quand on perd un membre de la famille ça fait toujours mal. J'ai eu la chance de rencontrer mon grand oncle aux funérailles de ma grand-mère Laurette Farmer et j'ai eu une bonne première impression. À toute la famille Farmer j'aimerais offrir mes plus sincères condoléances.

Nos sincères condoléances à la famille Farmer pour le décès de l'oncle Richard. Nous pensons à vous tous en ces moments difficiles. C'est triste de penser que le dernier frère de notre père Laurent nous a quittés. Qu'il repose en paix.
