MURTAGH RANGER, Shirley

1934 - 2017

Ranger, Shirley Ann, (nee Murtagh)

Peacefully in Hull hospital on Wednesday, October 18, at 83 years of age. Shirley passionately loved her family and dear friends and her warm smiles will be missed by all who knew her. She was the dearly beloved wife of Bernard Ranger, adored mother of Cindy, and well loved sister of Mae Gardner,(late Leo), Mary Monette (late Ervyn),  and Bryan (Wendy McGlashan). Her quick wit, ready humour, joy for life and gracious hospitality at their home and pool were always appreciated by her many nieces, nephews, and friends. Predeceased by her parents, Arthur Murtagh and Elsie Rusenstrom and siblings Norman, Arthur and Lois Steen (late Wilf).

The family will receive relatives and friends to celebrate her life at LA COOPÉRATIVE FUNÉAIRE DE L'OUTAOUAIS, 95 Blvd Cité des  Jeunes on Sunday, October 29 from noon until 2 p.m.. A service will be held at 2 p.m. in the chapel with a reception to follow.

For those wishing, memorial contributions to the Lung Association would be appreciated.

Bernie Ranger aka Uncle Bernie and Cindy and ma Tante's family

My heart goes out to all of you. Ma tante was one special lady. I know she has gone to a better place. I know how much you all miss her and George and I will miss her terribly as well. I especially will miss our little "snorts" as she called our glasses of wine. RIP ma tante. Love you. George & Louise

Our deepest love and sympathy to you both during this time, and in the days ahead. Our dear Aunt Shirley was indeed an inspiration to all! In the face of all her battles, and during her sickest of days, she still continued to put a smile on her face and speak words of love and encouragement to all! Her quick wit, her no nonsense attitude, and her keen sense of humor was always there to put a smile on your face...how we shall miss this in the days ahead. We shall cherish the many memories of her in our hearts forever!!
Til we meet again Shirley...our love always and forever..

Bernard Ranger and family and Mae Gardner.

It is with deep regert to learn of your loss. My wife and I often think of our happier times times in Petawawa in early 1970s, when we lived next door to Leo and Mae.
