Therese loved my son, Can Akant, in such a beautiful way. She let him ride on her back even when she was in her very late (and delicate) 60’s. She and Michael made some incredible trips and kept active as long as they possibly could. She was so pleased to be near her family for the last five years -- and every time I called, she spoke French for the first several minutes and boasted about what sounds like a beautiful place and atmosphere in Sherbrooke. Her childhood farm memories were like something out of "Little Women." Horse-drawn carriages to church on snowy Sunday mornings, and how she loved to take care of her 12 younger siblings with her beloved mother. Leaning over a sewing machine a lot of her life did not help her back but she so enjoyed making and designing and fashioning and creating and cooking, as if she lived in a farmhouse still!
I already miss having her on the planet.
