It is with sadness that the Lacroix family announces the death of
He was metis, son of Joseph Lacroix and Emma Gervais of LaPasse. He died June 10th at the age of 92 years of age; he would have been 93 in December. Lumberjack, log driver, farmer and an exceptional trapper for over 60 years, he build bridges, dams and roads in our region for over 40 years. He was the father of 8 children, one who died in childhood, Larry. He leaves behind his children Lee, Len, Lionel, Lucien, Léandre, Lucienne and Luc and his beloved little dog and companion Bébé, as well as several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank his niece Wilma and Valley, who were Leas’ neighbors for over 55 years for the excellent care they gave him and to always be there for him by bringing him his meals everyday for the last years of his life and being there for him when his children could not. We would also like to thank all the nursing staff, the attendants and his social worker Annik at the Manoir Sacre Coeur for the exceptional care and love you gave him during the final months of his life which allowed him to live with love and dignity right until the end.
At the request of the deceased, there will be no religious service at the Church. Instead, a celebration of life will be held to honour dad at the Bistro des Bûcherons in Fort Coulonge located at 204, rue Principale from 1-2 pm.
