DELL'AERA (NÉE CITRO), Rosa

Rosa Dell’Aera

1929-2020

Rosa passed away peacefully on January 1, 2020, with her family at her bedside, at the Maison Bruyère in Gatineau (Aylmer). She was born in Villarosa Sicily July 5, 1929 to her parents : Sebastiano Citro and Calogera Casale. On New Year's Day, she was finally re-united with her beloved husband Liborio whom she dearly missed for 54 years. Predeceased by her siblings : Michelina, Carmela, Giuseppe and Lucio, her in-laws : Santo, Giuseppina, Angela, Giacomina and her close confidant David Castonguay.

Left a young widow, Rosa worked very hard to provide for her young family : long-time owner/manager of the Aylmer Red and White, she was also employed at the Multicultural Women’s Centre, Desjardins IGA and Pronuptia Galleries. Rosa was well known as a wonderful cook. She lived many years together with her widowed sister Michelina, their iconic Italian meals are legendary and well-remembered with culinary fondness by so many.

Rosa’s passing will be grieved by many friends and cousins, but especially missed by her sons : Michael (Gaétane Ouellet) and Seste (Samia Eid); her grandchildren : Fabiano Dell’Aera and Elissa Dell’Aera; her step-grandson Vincent Castonguay (Sophie Cadieux) and her little treasure Noémie Castonguay.

We would like to offer our most profound gratitude to the wonderful staff at Maison Bruyère in Aylmer for their professional and caring attention to our dear Rosa these past 36 months.

Visitations will be held at LA COOPÉRATIVE FUNÉRAIRE DE L’OUTAOUAIS, 95 Cité-des-Jeunes Blvd in Gatineau (Hull sector) on  Wednesday January 15, 2020 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 16, 2020 at 11 a.m. at St-Stephen Parish located at 212 Old Chelsea Road in Chelsea, Quebec.
