Passed away at the Kirkland & District Hospital on Tuesday, June 02, 2009. Eileen is lovingly remembered and forever missed by her devoted husband of 59 years, Ernie Mason; her beloved daughter Jane and her husband Mike Lavoie of Porcupine; her loving grandchildren Janis (Steven) Donovan, Shawn (Amy) Lavoie, Sara (Mike) Cazemier as well as her precious great grandchildren Emma, Cody, Owen, Vayda and Caleb. Eileen is also survived by her nieces Jaye Ann (Larry) McLean and Marlene (Thom) Levene and their families. Predeceased by her parents Jay and Hattie Rathwell, sister Marjorie Wigston, brother-in-law Dave Wigston and many aunts and uncles. Eileen graduated as a Registered Nurse at the age of 23 years and practiced nursing in numerous hospitals in Ontario. She was also affectionately known as “Mother Mason”. She began her career at the Sir Harry Oaks Chateau (Former Kirkland Hospital) and continued working until she started a family of her own. Following Jane’s birth, she became a stay at home mom for many years, then got back into nursing. Family will welcome friends at the MONETTE & FRENCH FUNERAL HOME (450 Government Road West, Kirkland Lake, ON., P2N 3L1) on Thursday, June 4, 2009 from 12:00 (noon) to 1:30 p.m. followed by a funeral service at 1:30 p.m. with Pastor Bob Weight officiating. She will be laid to rest at the Kirkland Lake Cemetery. Donations in Eileen’s memory may be made to the Kirkland & District Hospital (P.O.
