Vada and Brenda and Families, Our sincere condolences for the loss of Kevin. We are shocked and sorry to hear Kevin passed. He was a very good friend. He played bridge with us many times. We played together in the Canadian Championships representing Northern Ontario, and lots of other tournaments. Kevin was a fierce competitor and one of the best players we know. We had many spirited conversations about sports, bridge and lots of laughs. We have many good memories of times together. May he rest in peace.

Rest in peace Mr. Conway. You were a wonderful teacher , a special person and a friend. Your kind do not pass through life without touching many and leaving a mark on those you meet. I will miss your smile, wit and friendship. Mike Bowman

Dear Vada, Frank, and families: Richard and I are very saddened to learn of Kevins death. Although I had another teacher for French, I will always remember Kevins kind and gentle manner. I was not surprised at his intellect which took him to championship levels in Bridge but, I had no idea of his athletic prowess. I am sure he had a wicked sense of humour, too. I am certain Gods Angels wrapped his soul in their loving wings and took him directly to our Father. With loving thoughts, Laurie and Richard

I am so sorry to hear of Kevins passing. Even though I had not seen Kevin over the years, my clear memories of him as a classmate never faded. My memories of Kevin included his diligence at whatever he undertook ,his thoughtfulness , his friendliness , his openness to others and his many kindnesses. He was well rounded and good to be around. To Vada and Brenda In this difficult time , take comfort in knowing that he positively touched so many lives and in so many ways as a teacher ,athlete , card player, and so on. My sad thoughts are with you and your families. You can be proud of his many achievements and the wonderful legacy he has left that will live on for years to come. I know that he will be greatly missed. It is my privilege to have known him.

Tom & Carole Sinclair Dear Vada & Brenda: Our thoughts are with you and your families during this time of sorrow following the death of your brother Kevin. There was never a more encouraging, supportive co-worker during our thirty years of teaching at KLCVI. May you find peace in the memories you cherish.

We were very sorry to of Kevins passing. He was a colleague at KLCVI for many years and was a major contributor to the school atmosphere that made it such a great place to teach ! We had such great times playing hockey, slopitch, and other more thoughtful activities. He was a good athlete, possessed a dry wit and remained a great friend to many! We will miss our conversations. Our condolences to all.

Brian and Gale Hamilton, le 1 mars 2021

Darren Phillips, le 1 mars 2021

Thank you for being a compassionate teacher. You showed concern for your students. I enjoyed French even though it was not my best subject you honoured that.

Trevis Carey, le 1 mars 2021

Vada, Brenda and families, One of the saddest moments is when you hear of the loss of a friend. Kevin once tried to explain how to play bridge to me, after about 10 minutes he said, “well how about you stick to crazy eights.” His laugh was contagious. My deepest sympathy to all. RIP, Kevin. Ellen

Vada, Frank, Brenda, Dave, and Family. We are sorry to hear of Kevin’s passing. He was a good colleague to have, hard-working and treated his students fairly. It was always interesting to chat with him about sports especially hockey. Kevin made our teacher’s hockey pools very competitive but fun. He was a good card player but Kevin also excelled in chess games. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all during these difficult times. Barb and Jack

We will miss you so much Uncle Kevin. As kids we loved coming to visit, thanks for always keeping the orange pop chilled for us. When we went to the complex for skating and swimming we always ran to squash courts to see if you were playing, waited for you to look up and smile and wave. I will remember all of us watching the blue jays game in Grammas Toronto apartment (with the sound off) while listening to the radio announcers call the game. In high school I was lucky to have you as my teacher in grade 11. So I know first hand that so many students were lucky to have you as their teacher. Enjoyed so many nights competing against you in Trivia night at the fed and many family games of trivial pursuit. Never stood a chance of winning unless we played partners! I dont think you ever missed a sports question!! Thank you for your kindness and generosity over the years. And I know you had your favourite sports teams, thank you for including the Winnipeg Jets and Blue Bombers hats I sent in the rotation. Will miss you more than I can express. Mom, Dad, Aunt Vada Uncle Frank we share your loss and your grief and hope we will all be together soon. Xoxo Shannon & Ian David, Jack and Owen Blanchfield

Without a doubt Kevin will be missed by those who shared TimBits with him after squash tournaments in Sudbury! He was a quiet friend who was a college for many years at KLCVI. Too bad we couldn’t just play a let! June and Chuck Wallsten

June and Chuck Wallsten, le 1 mars 2021

We would like to offer our most sincere condolences to Vada and Brenda and the rest of the family for their loss. Kevin was a very close friend and esteemed colleague. We both taught French at KLCVI for almost 30 years. Our discussions often focused on the finer points of French grammar. In his younger days he showed great skill in hockey and baseball. He was also known for being an exceptional good Bridge player. In the last few years, I would see him at Tim Hortons a couple of times a week. He especially liked to talk about the old songs and the movies from the 50’s and 60’s. Each time we sat down for a coffee, he would have a trivia question for me and in turn I would have one for him. I will miss his inquisitive mind, his generosity and his sense of humour. I feel honoured to have been his friend and part of his life. Pasquale Di Sano

Pasquale Di Sano, le 1 mars 2021

We were very saddened to hear of Kevins passing and would like to offer our condolences to the families. I played sports and bridge against Kevin and appreciated his skills in both activities. I also worked underground at the Kerr Addison mine when we both took a year off from university. We had many conversations during the year as we car pooled together. Kevin was one of the brightest guys that I knew. His Kirkland Lake sports knowledge was the best, as he corrected me on more than one occasion and we shared a laugh over his facts.

Mark and Vivien Millin, le 1 mars 2021
