Education

Education is one of the principles dearest to the funeral cooperatives movement. For that reason, funeral cooperatives offer their members many documents of interest, such as the Profil magazine (in french only) and a series of information and support leaflets.

Many funeral cooperatives also organize information sessions, lecture evenings, discussion groups and workshops. These public activities are designed to inform the community about various subjects related to demystifying the topic of death. Various themes are dealt with, both personal and legal: ageing, death and children, the stages and emotions of bereavement, the mandate in case of incapacity, last wishes, the will, and liquidation of an estate.

An expert such as a notary or psychologist is sometimes invited to these educational sessions to share his or her knowledge. They are a means of acquiring information about subjects that are often misunderstood, in an informal and relaxed learning environment.
