Pajunen, Andrée

PAJUNEN, Andrée

1935 - 2023

It is with sorrow in our hearts that we announce the passing of Andrée Pajunen (nee Dixon) on Saturday, November 4th, 2023, at Résidence Saint-Louis’ long-term care home in Ottawa at the age of 88 yrs. after a courageous battle with dementia.  Andrée is survived by her sister Doris Mullin of Oshawa and brother-in-law Ron Pajunen (Margo) of Victoria, BC.

Beloved wife of the late Ray Pajunen, devoted mother of Bryce Pajunen of Kirkland Lake, Sharon Pajunen (Mark Williams) of Ottawa and Jill Hodgins (Rick) of Ottawa.  Cherished Grand-maman to Shane (Jessica), Jeff, Daniel (Marlee), Cody, Sophie, Isabel, Brigitte and Annick, and proud Great-Grand-maman to Levi, River and Nora.

Andrée is warmly remembered by her many dear friends and cousins (famille Charron – Timmins)

Andrée was a dedicated school teacher for 30 years in Kirkland Lake and Timmins.  She was a loyal supporter of her church (St-Jude and Sacred Heart), her community (Bannerman Park, Meals on Wheels, Food Bank) and multiple other organizations. She will be remembered for a deep faith, kind, generous spirit, bright smile and positive energy.

A private family funeral mass was recently celebrated at Holy Name Parish in KL followed by an inurnment in Porcupine next to her husband Ray.

As Andrée was a generous supporter and volunteer at the Porcupine Food Bank, a donation to this or any Food Bank in her memory would be greatly appreciated.

I am so sorry he hear of your mom’s passing. She was my kindergarden teacher and I still remember the way she made me feel as though I was her favourite. I later realized she made each one of us feel that way.
She was an elegant, kind and gentil woman.
Keeping you in my heart and prayers.
Sincere condolences
Christianne
