LACHAPELLE, Fay

1941 - 2025

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Fay Lachapelle, who died peacefully at the Kirkland Lake and District Hospital on Saturday October 11th, at the age of 84, following a sudden illness.

Beloved wife of the late Damien Lachapelle, her life partner and best friend for over six decades, Fay was the heart and soul of her family. Together, they built a beautiful life in their cherished family home, where she lived for more than half a century. Her home was her sanctuary—filled with love, laughter, and countless memories shared with family and friends.

Fay will be deeply missed by her three daughters, Sandy Lachapelle(Turcotte), Angela Lachapelle (Kim Wakeford) and Tracy (Joel) McCartney as well as her sister Sandy Bieber. Loving grandmother to her nine grandchildren, Daina, Bobby, Shawn, Robbie, Jerrid, Jessie, Damien, Morgan and Liam. An adoring great-grandmother to her twelve adorable great grand children. She treasured her family above all else and nurtured those connections throughout her life with the same grace, warmth, and quiet strength that defined her.

A respected professional, Fay enjoyed a long and accomplished career with the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce (CIBC),where she was admired by colleagues and clients alike for her dedication, professionalism, and kindness. Known for her elegance, impeccable style, and poise, she carried herself with dignity and gentleness that left a lasting impression on all who knew her.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to the Palliative Care Unit of the Kirkland Lake and District Hospital for their exceptional compassion, sensitivity, and support during her final days.

Fay leaves behind a legacy of love, integrity, and beauty—in how she lived, worked, and cared for those around her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

We would like to express our heartfelt condolences for your loss. Your mom was a wonderful person and great neighbour.

She had a kind smile and warm heart. I enjoyed our chats outside as we shared our love for little dogs. Your dad back in the day would chatting about everything else, from cars to weather :) ️

Her presence will be missed.
Thinking of all of you during this difficult time.

Ease your grief she is not gone
For in your heart she'll linger on Her smile, her laugh, her special way
Will comfort you from day to day.
You'll feel her presence in the breeze
That dances gently through the trees.
And it's her face that you will see
When you're in need of her company.
At any time, you can "recall,
The love you shared.
You saved it all. And in time, more than anything.
You'll find peace in remembering.

May my support
warm your heart

My deepest condolences to all of you. I worked with Fay for many years at CIBC and knew her from KLCVI High School as well. She was a good friend through all those many years and I will remember our good times.
May God Bless and Comfort you as only He knows how. Cast all your cares upon Jesus because He cares for you.
