PERRY-GORE (NEE RICHARDSON), Jane

1933 - 2025

Mrs. Jane Perry-Gore (nee Richardson) passed away peacefully on November 1, 2025, due to a stroke.

Jane was born in England on June 21, 1933, and was married to Reverend Cannon Keith Perry-Gore (deceased). She was sister to Bill, Ann (deceased), and Dorcas; mother of Alex (Cathy), Bridget (Vincent), and Clive (Nicole); grandmother to Kelli, Luke, Kaitlin, Renee, Sophie, Rachel, Jessica, Kevin, and Trevor; and great-grandmother to ten.

She spent her early childhood in the UK and Singapore then later attended university, where she studied food sciences. She married Keith, and after a few years they moved to Barbados where they raised their young family. In 1970, they moved to New Carlisle (Gaspé), and in 1973 made their final move to North Hatley, where she lived for 52 years.

Jane was dedicated to her family, friends, the church, and her community, remaining deeply engaged with all. She was actively involved in the community and attended a variety of groups such as yoga, Grace Ladies, and knitting. Jane knew the birthdates of every grandchild and great-grandchild and was deeply connected to all of them. In her eighties, she could be seen tobogganing with them on the North Hatley Golf Course, where she was also a keen golfer in the summer.

She was an avid gardener and produced a prolific amount of vegetables. In the last few years, she lived at The Connaught, where she tended a smaller community garden. With poles in hand, she walked daily regardless of the weather.

The funeral will be held on Saturday, November 8, at 10 a.m. at St. Barnabas Church in North Hatley. Please join us for refreshments afterward in the church basement.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to St. Barnabas Church, where she was a faithful member.

I still have memories of her and Ouida walking on the NH golf course, laughing and hitting their ball as straight as an arrow. She always participated in both our golf leagues and sometimes Keith would tag along for a meal with the ladies. She was most famous for winning the half and half draw. We will miss her sense of humour!
