DINNEN (NEE HAUGHTON), Jeanie “Jeanette” Lindsay

1932 - 2024

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the sudden passing on Friday, February 9, 2024 of Jeanie at her home on Kenogami Lake. She was 91 years of age. Born in Kilsyth, Scotland, Jeanie came to Canada shortly after her birth with her parents, Alexander “Sandy” Thomson Haughton and Isabella (“Belle”) Wallace Haughton (Clark). Jeanie lived in and near Kirkland Lake for the rest of her life. Jeanie was predeceased by her husband, Robert John Allan “Al” Dinnen, who passed away on February 1, 2006. 

Jeanie is survived by: her sister, Ann Thomson Haughton; her children, Jean Lorraine McGee (Wayne) and Robert “Bob”Allan Dinnen (Lynne); grandchildren Lindsay Grace Bériault (Benoit), George “Geordie”Allan McGee (Kelly Rae), Elizabeth “Liz” Wallace McGee; her great grandchildren, Martin Alexander Bériault, Hunter Benoit Bériault and Raeleigh Elizabeth McGee; as well as extended family and friends.

In keeping with Jeanie’s wishes, cremation has been arranged with Timiskaming Funeral Cooperative. A graveside service and celebration of life will be held on August 3, 2024 in Kirkland Lake, to which family, friends and neighbours are invited.

Donations in Jeanie’s memory may be made to the Kenogami & District Volunteer Fire Brigade, 5450 Highway 11, Swastika, ON P0K 1T0.
