Sincere condolences. Not easy no matter the age or situation. Losing the second parent makes us appreciate more the people we have in our lives. Prayers are with you and your mom. Cousin John Jr.

I was so, so sad to hear of Lola's passing. What a woman indeed. She taught this Alberta girl a thing or two - ever the teacher that she was. She broadened my horizons on our drive through Quebec and the Maritimes with her lived experience and rich perspectives on life. As my cruise cabin buddy, we spent many nights playing crib accompanied by a cool sea breeze and good bottle of red. And my visits with her both in Ottawa and in Alberta were always a pleasure. My condolences to you and the family.

Lola was an amazing person. Not just smart but witty as all get out. She tried, bravely, to teach me the card game Hand and Foot, of which she was a Master but I was not very good at it and that was my fault, not hers.

I remember having some fascinating conversations with Lola over the years. I very much enjoyed just sitting and chatting with her.

But the most fun was watching her in casinos. She was a Master there as well.

She will be missed by me but I am grateful for the wonderful memories. My condolences to you all on such a painful loss.
