It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mr. Lewis Maloney on August 26th, 2025, at the age of 94. He was the beloved spouse of Margaret McNamara and son of the late Vincent Maloney and of the late Katie McNulty.
Lewis was a long-time community member of Thurso and an employee of the MacLaren Pulp and Paper Mill. He was the lifelong custodian of his family farm and the third generation of a 5-generation enterprise. His passion was the land and it’s offerings. A proud farmer until his dying breath.
He leaves behind his daughter Ann Maloney (Trevor Tavares) and his granddaughter Quinn (Noah Perkins). He also leaves his brother Patrick (Maureen), his sisters Eileen (John Monaghan) and Clare (late Jack Flynn), his sisters-in-law Mary McNamara Maloney and Micheline Ouillemette as well as his many well-loved nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his brothers Bernie, John, Victor, his sister Mary (Raymond Joly) and his sister-in-law Stella Arthurs.
The funeral service will be held on Friday September 26th, 2025, at 10:30 am at St-Jean L'Évangéliste church located at 350 Victoria Street in Thurso. The family will receive condolences as of 9:30 am.

The family wishes to thank the staff of the CHSLD Vallée-de-la-Lièvre for their support and the good care.
