The family of Louise Terillon

I regret that my health prevents me from attending the funeral. Louise and I became friends and colleagues when Louise reentered the Canadian Government in my International Relations Branch at the Department of Communications. Our work together continued in retirement when Louise was President of the National Capital Branch of the Canadian International Council. Louise was an inspiration and class act in every sense of that term.

Claire-Marie

I wish to express my deepest sympathy to you and the rest of your family on the loss of your mother. Louise and I joined the Foreign Service the same year (1955) and remained friends over the years. As was the case in those years, we both had to resign after marriage and spent many years raising wonderful families. Neither of the us could be hired again after our children were grown, but Louise became active in cultural affairs and represented Canada at UNESCO as well as becoming chair of the Mediterranean Institute and the CIIA. I worked at Historical Division for ua few years assisting editors of the historical documents series, and later went on to different things. Louise and I had a long chat last month and after reminiscing about lost colleagues, realized that we were the only ones left out of a group of 24. My husband Ross , who is the last of his group of 1954, and I will greatly miss her. Sadly we will not be able to attend the service for Louise, but will be thinking of you and families in England and France. Ardath Francis.
