ANDERSON, Margaret

1923 - 2025

On the 15th of July, 2025, in Ottawa Ontario, Margaret Mary Anderson died at the age of 102 due to natural causes.

 Margaret was born in Winnipeg Manitoba and married WFD (Andy) Anderson in Montreal in 1946 and eventually settled in Ottawa, Ontario.  She was predeceased by her husband, Andy Anderson in 1986, her sister, Helen Gilbert (Cape Elizabeth, Maine) in 2023.  She is survived by her children: Cathie (Jean-Pierre) Soubliere, Bonnie (Larry Hrabchuk),June (Juan Tejeda), James Rorie Anderson (Sheila), Mac Anderson (Sandy), Janet (Steve Gallant).  She is survived by her brother, Jim MacDonald (Joan) of Calgary, Alberta and many grandchildren and great grandchildren, too numerous to mention.

 Margaret was an accomplished violinist/violist playing in the Ottawa Civic Symphony, St. John's Strings, and numerous other chamber music ensembles.  She was a dedicated teacher and mentor and was also a member of the Ottawa Music Teachers’ Association for many years.   She will be sadly missed by all of her many friends and family members.
