Rivett (Mason), Marjorie Beatrice

RIVETT (MASON), Marjorie Beatrice

1934 - 2025

It is with deep love and sorrow that we announce the passing of Marjorie Beatrice Rivett (Mason), who went home to be with her Lord on October 2nd, 2025, at the age of 91.

Born in 1934 in Essex, England, Marjorie built her life on faith, family, and hard work. In 1966, she courageously crossed the ocean with six young children in tow, beginning a new chapter in Canada with her husband, John William Rivett, who predeceased her in 2011.  Together they raised a family of thirteen. Her legacy of love grew to include 31 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren, each of whom she cherished deeply.

Marjorie’s home was always filled with warmth, the smell of fresh baking, the bubbling of homemade preserves, and the laughter of children. She took joy in turning the bounty of their enormous garden into jars of jams and vegetables that she proudly shared with family and friends. A woman of simple joys and unwavering faith, she taught by example: to love generously, work hard, and place God at the center of one’s life.

A devoted Christian, Marjorie was a lifelong member of her church community, where she found strength and fellowship. She believed that her greatest calling was to nurture her family, and she lived that calling with grace, humor, and boundless patience.

She is survived by her beloved children, Stephen (Penny), William (Jocelyn), Timothy (Barbara), Daniel, Rosemary (Sydney), Matthew (Diane), Benjamin (Colleen), Margaret, Cindy, Cathy, Sarah (Mathieu), Elizabeth and Amaris (John), grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and her dear brother James Mason, who remains a treasured link to her family roots. They will all carry forward her traditions, kindness, values, and recipes.

Though her earthly journey has ended, the love and faith she nurtured in her family will continue to flourish for generations to come.

A service will be held on Saturday October 25th, 2025 at 2:00pm, in Faith Hall at Grace Village. A reception will follow at 3:00pm. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Marjorie's life. The burial of ashes will take place privately for family at the Huntingville Cemetery, at 4:00pm.  In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to a charity of your choice, in keeping with Marjorie’s generous spirit.

“And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.” — 1 Corinthians 13:13
