LAROCQUE (NEE BROOK), Marla

1948 - 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Wife/Mom/Nanny, after her very short courageous battle with cancer. Surrounded by her loving family, she left this world peacefully on July 23, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of unconditional love and cherished memories.

Born Marla Olive Brook, she was the devoted wife, partner, and best friend to Victor Larocque for over 60 beautiful unforgettable years. Together they built a life filled with love, raising their three daughters: Nancy (Mike), Lori (Melanie), and Vicki (Emile). Her greatest joy came from her role as "Nanny" to her four grandchildren - Micheal (Stephanie), Brandon (Veronica), Dawson (Protiti), and Cole - and her two great-grandchildren Olixin and Margot, who always brought a sparkle to her eyes. Marla was a loving sister to her siblings and a treasured aunt to many nieces and nephews.

Mom’s greatest happiness was found in the moments spent with her family. Whether it was holiday gatherings, going for rides exploring nature, or afternoons playing cards and sharing stories. Mom and Dad’s home was always filled with laughter and love and the aroma of her incredible baking. She had a way of making everyone feel special, and her gentle strength and wisdom were a guiding light for those she held dear.

Marla spent her 30 plus year career at the Kirkland Lake and District Hospital working her way up to director of 3 departments, dietary, SPD, and material management. Marla was very proud of her career and the people she worked among as well as the patients she supported.

The family extends their deepest gratitude to the exceptional medical care team in both Sudbury and Kirkland Lake, and the extraordinary nursing staff at Blanche River Health in Kirkland Lake. Your compassionate care during mom’s final journey brought comfort to us all.

A celebration of Mom’s remarkable life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Salvation Army Food Bank, Palliative Care at Blanche River Health or a charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated.

Though our hearts ache with her absence, we find peace knowing Mom’s love lives on through us and the countless lives she has touched. Her wisdom and her contagious laughter will be forever missed but never forgotten.

A mother’s love knows no bounds and she was our everything.
