It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Raymond Lachaine on June 19, 2019 at the age of 90. Beloved husband of Marcelle Labelle for 66 years. As well as his wife, he leaves his three loving daughters : Nicole (Gabriel Ouimet), Denyse (Mark Deriger) and Lise (Daniel Villeneuve); his six cherished grandchildren : Éric Ouimet (Catherine Leclerc), Marc Ouimet (Khadeejat Momoh), Alex McCourt, Émilie Villeneuve (Étienne Petit), Karine Villeneuve (Dominick Pelletier-Rivard) and Benoit Villeneuve (Noémie Letang-Larabie); his three great-grandchildren he was so fond of : Ariane Ouimet, Malik Ouimet and Flavie Rivard.

He also leaves his sisters-in-law : Carole (late André Lachaine), Odette (late Gilbert Lachaine) and Roberta (late Leo Labelle), his brother-in-law Guy Labelle and several nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. Predeceased by his parents : Adélard Lachaine and Juliette Latendresse, his sister Constance and his brothers : Maurice, Gilbert and André.

Raymond graduated from the University of Ottawa. He had a long and brilliant career as a senior public servant at the federal public service. Among other things, he held an appointment in Paris (France) in the 1960s as a financial manager in the NATO Canadian delegation.

To pay homage to Raymond, a funeral service will be held on July 20, 2019 at 2 p.m. at la Coopérative funéraire de l’Outaouais, 95 Cité-des-Jeunes Blvd in Gatineau (Hull sector). Visitations will be held from 1:15 p.m. to 2 p.m.

The family wishes to thank the personnel of the Ottawa Hospital, Civic Campus, and the wonderful team of La maison Mathieu-Froment-Savoie for their good care, their compassion and their devotion.
