So sorry about your Mom. You two were amazing with her and she got to stay in her home her whole life with so much love around her. What a lucky lady she was
In loving memory of Rollande Yvonne Danilovich (DeLean) born November 28, 1925, in Ansonville, Ontario, who passed away at the age of 96 on April 29, 2022, with family by her side.
She was one of nine siblings; Luce, Sue, Ray, Lucien, Tess, Mish, Joe, and Denny. They were a fun-loving musical family. Rolly was predeceased by her husband of 45 years, John, and is survived by her children, Gary James (Dianne), Mark James, Kim Ryan (Kelly), and Lisa Davis (Terry). She was blessed with 10 grandchildren and 14.5 great-grandchildren, all of whom, enjoyed many wonderful summers in Kenogami. Rolly was fortunate to have a large close extended family and celebrated many family reunions throughout the years.
Rolly and John were partners in businesses throughout their life together; Spic and Span Dry Cleaners, Union Bakery, Red Pines Lodge, and Red Pines Trading Post.
She was one of the original members of the sorority, Beta Sigma Phi, and her life was enriched by friendships with her many sorority sisters.
Rolly and John enjoyed many years on Kenogami Lake and were active members of their community. Rolly loved working in her store where she was able to interact with many people. John and Rolly spent ten years vacationing in Lake Havasu, Arizona, with their KL gang. Rolly was known for her wit and sense of humour. She was small but mighty!
In lieu of flowers, if one wishes, donations can be made to Kenogami Firehall/Community Centre in Rolly’s memory.
Many thanks to Rolly’s wonderful community caregivers including Dr. Ek, VON, CCAC, Homecare, Nurse Practitioners, Family Health Team, KL Pharmacy, Kirkland Lake and New Liskeard District hospitals.
Rolly will be greatly missed by all who knew her. A Celebration of her Life will be held at a later date.

My friend, so sorry to learn of your Mom’s passing. Her life was a full one and “small but mighty” speaks volumes. She will be missed. Hope you find peace knowing that she and Black John are united once again. Hugs.
Ernie and Marianne Cloutier extend their sincere condolences to all of Rollys family on the loss of a treasured member of heir family. We knew her as a warm mother to her daughter and to our daughter who spent many nights hiding behind the doors of the Bar watching the entertainment when they should have been in bed. In later years we felt her kindness and her desire to please when we shopped at her Trading Post. When we owned the Kenogami Bridge Inn, she was a pleasant and kind customer of ours.
We join with you in sorrow at this sad time .
We are so saddened to read of Rolly's passing. Please accept our heartfelt condolences. Cherish the memories!
Big hugs from Freddie & Erin

My sincere deepest sympathy to the family on Rollande’s passing. Having my late Father deliver from our Kirkland Hardware Store in Kirkland Lake to Kenogami. Having a cottage in Kenogami and enjoying the good times at the Red Pines years back. Shopped in her store and I had many long great conversations with her. Rest In Peace!
Sincerely;
Ms. Michelle St. Georges
I’m so sorry to hear of your Mom’s passing. She was a lovely lady and we visited Red Pines often to shop for coats and slippers! Please know you are in my thoughts Lisa, although she had a long life, it never seems long enough when it’s your Mom ❤️.
So sorry to hear of Rolly's passing. She was such a sweet caring lady. Lots of great memories to treasure. I remember working in the store a few days for her. My deepest condolences !
Rolly was a sorority sister for over 50 years and was always willing to share her recipes and expertise in the kitchen. She hosted many dinner and events at the home/businesses on Kenogami. I still make her Wild Rice Casserole once or twice a year and it is my 'go to' recipe for pot luck suppers. My sincere condolences to Rolly's children and their families.
So very sorry to hear of your Mom’s passing. Such a lovely lady.
Thoughts and prayers to all of your family.
I am so very saddened to hear this. My sincerest condolences
I’m so sorry to hear of Rolly’s passing. She was a wonderful lady and I always enjoyed talking to her. She will be dearly missed.
Sad to hear that your Mom has passed away.
My thoughts and prayers are with you All.
I picked up a old cookbook while thrifting, and decided to play "dinner roulette" and it landed on a page with a " prize winning beef burgundy" recipie. Being from North Bay area, I was surprised to see the recipe came from someone in Kirkland Lake even though every other recipe that I had scanned through was contributed by someone in USA, so the beef burgundy is what I made for dinner last night. It was amazing, an has been added to my monthly rotation.
I thought I would see if your mother was online, thinking if she was I would drop her a 'thank you' note for sharing the recipe with the world, and to let her know that her beef burgundy is still spreading joy, love and happiness, even after so many decades. I am sorry to see she has passed, but I figured I would share the knowledge with you, her family, that she left a legacy that it still being appreciated.
