La famille de Dave
Il n'y a pas de mots pour exprimer à quel point nous sommes affligés par la dure perte que vous vivez. Nous espérons simplement que notre sympathie vous apportera un certain apaisement.
In Loving Memory of David “Dave” Declare
“At the end of the day, all you’ve got is family.” – Dave
It is with shattered hearts that we announce the sudden and tragic passing of David Declare — better known to everyone as Dave — on April 2, 2025, at the young age of 61. Taken from us far too soon, his passing has left a profound void in the lives of all who knew and loved him.
Dave was a beloved husband, devoted father, adoring grandfather, cherished son, brother, uncle, and loyal friend. He leaves behind his loving wife of 40 years, Jacqueline Brennan (Jackie), and their five children, who were his greatest pride and joy: Celina (Greg), Amanda, Vanessa (Chris), Jennifer (Chad), and Kyle. Nothing brought Dave more happiness than being surrounded by his family, and he was never prouder than when speaking about his grandchildren — Owen, Nico, Matteo, Austin, Lyla, Ethan, Ella and Everly— who lit up his world and filled his heart with endless love.
Dave is survived by his loving mother, Pauline Declare, and was predeceased by his father, Ralph Declare. He loved them both deeply, and the man he became was shaped by their unwavering love, strength, and guidance.
Dave is also survived by his siblings: Steve (Laura), Andy (Jill), Brian (Joanne), and Kim (Wade). He leaves behind many beloved in-laws: Paul (Sue), Guy (Louise), Ann, Mark (Joanne – predeceased), and Mike (predeceased). Whether it was a meaningful conversation, a shared joke, or simply being there for one another, Dave felt a strong sense of loyalty and connection with each of them. He cherished these relationships, and they meant the world to him. He is also remembered fondly by countless nieces and nephews who adored their Uncle Dave. Dave shared a special bond with his late in-laws, Marcelle Ladouceur and Berthel Brennan, whom he both loved dearly. Family meant everything to him, and he made room in his heart for everyone.
Thank you, for your boundless love, your laughter, and the guidance and unmeasurable strength you so freely gave and instilled in all of us. For the memories you created with us and the countless unforgettable moments we shared. Life will never be the same without you. But we will carry you with us — in every story and in every tear. “At the end of the day, all you’ve got is family” — and you will always be at the heart of ours. You were, and will forever be, our everything.
A celebration of life will be held in Dave’s honour on Thursday, April 17, from 2 pm to 6 pm at The British Hotel in Aylmer, Quebec. All who knew and loved Dave are welcome to join us in remembering the man who meant so much to so many of us.
