LAUZON, Earl Henry

1944 - 2025

The family of Earl Henry Lauzon wishes to announce his passing in the early morning hours on July 8, 2025, at the Montfort Hospital in Ottawa.

Earl Henry Lauzon Berridge was born on June 25, 1944, in The Town of Kirkland Lake, Ontario.  He was the oldest of 8 children, raised on Wye Street in Chaput Hughes. Earl spent most of his life in Kirkland Lake, working in the north as a carpenter.  He married his beloved wife Linda Elizabeth Desabrais on December 23, 1994.  With the passing of Linda on April 24, 2022, Earl moved to Ottawa to live under the care of his youngest brother Allen Lauzon and sister-in-law Louise.
Over the years, Earl always managed to find the time to help family and friends with their construction needs.  As a handy man, he was always fixing something right to the end.

Along with his wife Linda Lauzon, Earl was predeceased by his parents, Ann and Real Lauzon, by his brother Donald Lauzon (survived by Jane Lauzon), and by his sister Lilliane Frappier (survived by Jerry Frappier).  He is survived by siblings, Denise Coderre (Claude), Gerald Lauzon (Nicole Gagne), Roger Lauzon (Janis), Rolland Lauzon (Deb), and Allen Lauzon (Louise). Left to mourn are his stepsons Andre Hamelin (Caroline) and Eric Hamelin, his grandchildren Andrea Hamelin (Mark Small), Danielle Hamelin (Kyran Kelly), Patrick Simpson (Alex Dalton), Hunter Hamelin (Whitney Wesley), and Keegan Hamelin (Mariah Snow), and his great grandchildren Kaleb Simpson, Jackson Schell, Sebastian Schell and River Raymond Hamelin.

Earl is also survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and Robert McDonald, and his brother and sister-in-law, Gary and Jerri Desabrais. He is survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews, and a few uncles.

Earl always considered himself lucky to have had many lifelong friends, particularly Donald Bolduc, Leo Moffett (predeceased), and Pat Grenier (predeceased).

In keeping with Linda and Earl’s wishes, their ashes will be laid to rest in the Cremation Gardens at the Kirkland Lake Cemetery on August 29, 2025 at 2 pm. Family and friends are welcome to attend.
