VEINOT, Judy
1944 - 2025
It is with deep sorrow and immense love that we announce the passing of Judy Evelyn Veinot, a devoted mother, cherished grandmother, and beloved friend and teacher, who left this world on June 28, 2025 at the age of 81.
A single mother of remarkable strength and unconditional love, Judy raised her three children in Kirkland Lake with unwavering resilience. She was a consistent safe place, not only for her children, but to the countless students whose lives she touched throughout her career as an educator in the Kirkland Lake area.
As a teacher, Judy was passionate, inspiring, and endlessly patient. Her classroom was a place where curiosity was nurtured and every child felt seen and valued. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of those she taught, mentored, and uplifted.
She is predeceased by parents Carl and Margaret Johnson. She is survived by brothers and sisters Robert Johnson (Jeanne), Carol Johnson, Lyle Johnson (Pauline) Margy Johnson (Dave Saunders) and special sister-in-law, Marg Rose.
She will be forever missed by her three loving children, Patrick Veinot (Pauline Prebble) Carole Dekker (Bill) and Angela Halverson (Bill.) She was the proud grandmother to her six adoring grandchildren, Fox, Drake and Kohlton Veinot, Anna and Luke Halverson, and Alex Dekker who brought her boundless joy and pride. Her generosity, perseverance, and compassion will continue to live on through them.
Special thanks to Tina at Pioneer Manor who cared for her like family, and for the nursing staff at Health Sciences North who never failed to treat her with the respect, dignity and care she deserved.
Judy will be remembered for her amazing baking, generous heart, and the quiet strength with which she faced life’s challenges. She leaves behind a legacy of love, learning, and unwavering devotion to family and community.
Visitation will be held on Saturday July 12, 2025 from 11:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. with a funeral service to follow at 1:00 p.m. from the chapel of the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made online to the MS Society of Canada (https://mscanada.ca)
